Pricing/Revenue Performance Analyst

Assists in the analysis and improvement of Operational Revenue performance. Develops and maintains analytical tools and processes for measuring revenue performance at the macro and micro level. Performs regular analysis of shipping operations to determine revenue performance, identify areas of weakness/strength, and provide recommendations for achieving improvements. Strives to ensure appropriate channel, product and customer margins are maintained through careful analysis and monitoring of revenue and market trends and financial modeling of revenue/cost scenarios. Supports the Sales organization by providing analysis of pricing proposals for prospective customers and pricing performance reviews for existing customers. Supports Marketing by providing pricing collateral and analysis of revenue performance at the market level. Supports IT by providing periodic pricing data for inclusion in the Quote Engine and other back office systems.

Major Duties

  • Create pricing plans, with input from Sales and Operations, to respond to customers’ Request for Proposal for specific segment pricing.
  • Prepare, present and maintain detailed analysis of revenue performance for various factors: customers, transportation lanes, carriers, shipment size, etc.
  • Perform complex financial modeling utilizing various revenue and cost scenarios
  • Create, update, and maintain various tools and databases to support revenue and pricing analysis
  • Make recommendations to management regarding margin improvement and changes to sell-side prices.
  • Generate formatted pricing data to support corporate IT solutions.
  • Respond to ad hoc reporting requirements from various internal customers.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree in business, finance or accounting.
  • Three years relevant experience; experience with financial modeling preferred.
  • Financial analysis experience strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to disseminate large amounts of information, isolate relevant factors, and perform quantitative analysis on all factors.
  • Superior ability to check and validate own work.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities, while managing to established deadlines.
  • Strong customer service and vendor management skills.
  • Excellent computer modeling, Excel, and Access skills; Macro programming skills desired.
  • Speak and/or make presentations to individuals and groups.
